Sherwin Williams Sponsoring Art Contest

Would you like to see your art on a mural in the flats?  That is a possibility thanks the Sherwin Williams’ “Local Colors, Local Artists” program.

Rules

Capture the Spirit of Cleveland: Create a colorful two-dimensional image such as a drawing, painting, photograph, or a computer-generated image that captures the spirit of Cleveland (your “Submission”). Please make sure your Submission does not: (a) include any trademarks/logos, images, or other material belonging to any third party; (b) include an image of any person (or likeness of any person) other than yourself, unless you can provide The Sherwin-Williams Company written permission from that person; or (c) include any inappropriate/derogatory/defamatory content, language, nudity or profanity, or otherwise offensive content.

Who Can Participate: You can only participate if you are 18 or older and were either born in, or are currently a resident of, one of the following Northeast Ohio counties: Ashland; Ashtabula; Carroll; Columbiana; Cuyahoga; Erie; Geauga; Holmes; Huron; Lake; Lorain; Mahoning; Medina; Portage; Richland; Stark; Summit; Trumbull; Tuscarawas; or Wayne. Employees of Sherwin-Williams, Jacobs Entertainment and the city of Cleveland, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to participate.

Send Us Your Submission(s): Submissions can be uploaded starting July 9, 2012 at www.sherwinLCLA.com. Participants must register by entering their name, title of artwork, email, phone number and agreeing to the statement that verifies they were born in, or are currently a resident of Northeast Ohio. We must receive all Submissions by 11:59:59 pm EST on August 3, 2012. You can provide up to 5 Submissions during the Entry Period. By providing your Submission, you grant to The Sherwin-Williams Company a royalty-free, unrestricted, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, sublicense, adapt, transmit, publish, distribute, and display your Submission (in whole or in part) and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

What We’ll Do with the Submissions: All Submissions complying with these Rules will be featured in an online gallery at www.sherwinLCLA.comwhich shall include the title of the artwork and your first name and the first initial of your last name. We will review all of the Submissions and may decide to include one or more of the Submissions on a mural at Nautica in the Cleveland Flats. If we decide to use your Submission, we will contact you via email or telephone and you will be required to sign a document assigning all of your rights (including copyright), title and interest in the Submission to The Sherwin-Williams Company. If your Submission includes an image of any person (or likeness of any person) other than yourself, we’ll also need to get written permission from that person before we can use the Submission.
