Why do I need an email address?
Email allows you to connect with anyone else who has an email address. It also gives you access to more information and resources on the internet. In addition, in order to use join the conversation on the Old Brooklyn Connected website you must have a valid email address.
Who can you connect with through email?
Family, friends, co-workers, employers, local businesses, politicians…the list goes on!

What do you need to sign-up for an email address?
A computer, an internet connection, and a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox…)
What information do you need when you sign-up?
You will be asked for your name, a unique username, a password (case-sensitive), birthday, and location. There is also a security question that you will need to choose and answer. You will need this if you ever forget your password!
What will my email address be?
Your email address will be your username, the @ symbol and whatever provider you use. For example, if your username is BillSmith2010 and you signed up with gmail, then your email address would be .
What will my password be?
Your password is unique to you. It is also case sensitive. This means that if you use capitals, then you will need to use capitals every time you access your account.
